Fall Color in the Shenandoah Valley

Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the smell of woodsmoke in the air, bundling up in jackets, and hot cocoa after a walk in the brisk air.

The Shenandoah Valley is known for its beautiful bursts of color this time of year. We’ve missed the peak color season, having moved to our home when most of the yellow and red leaves are crunchy brown litter on the ground, but a few of our farm residents are holding on o their hues.

Pretty sure the annual is goldenrod, but I’m not sure of the two bushes. So much to learn! I’ve spent a decade just growing herbs and veggies :)
