I love that old saying…
Red sky at night, sailor’s delight.
Red sky at morning, sailor take warning.
I grew up in a town with nowhere to sail, but I still knew the phrase! This morning, sailors would have taken warning. The sun came up bright red, and the clouds reflected the light back. I was able to stop once and grab a picture that shows you a bit of the color — it was truly gorgeous.
My day was actually wonderful, though. I left the house at 6:00 today and drove to the city. I had a wonderful lunch with my dear friend Laurie (of scones fame!) at a great little sandwich shop in Occoquan, Virginia. I’m keeping emphasis in my life on the things I treasure, and lunch with a friend over a good Mediterranean sandwich is special to me.*** This personal blog is comprised solely of the opinions, views, projects, and travels of its author, Stacey Morgan Smith.
