I picked a handful of wild (maybe) Concord like grapes from the vines growing under the back porch. They taste great!
I don’t know for sure that they are wild. They don’t have the “foxy” smell that wild grapes supposedly have. The majority of the grapes I picked had one large seed, but a few had two seeds. The skins slipped off very easily and were in fact a little tough. The grapes tasted a bit like the Concord variety.
More motivation to add a few racks of grapes next year! Grapes are another fruit that bring back so many summer memories. Mom used to make jelly and cover it with wax to store. Now, with my germaphobia, that will never do, but it was fun to pull the wax “plug” out of the jelly jar :) – Stacey Morgan Smith*** This personal blog is comprised solely of the opinions, views, projects, and travels of its author, Stacey Morgan Smith.
