Pretty in (Fuschia) Pink

I noticed a slightly sweet scent on the wind, and I’m pretty darn sure it came from this magnolia. The blossoms have a very subtle, wonderful scent. Both trees appear to be the same variety, and as I drove back from town today, I noticed quite a few of the them in neighbors’ yards. I’d love to know how large they get or any additional information you have!

And I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my Dad. When I was little, I loved to play with the big white magnolia leaves next to the firehouse where Dad volunteered. The magnolia trees are long gone (they were evidently quite a mess to clean up), and the firehouse has since moved, but I still have those memories of sitting on a brick wall playing with lemon-scented leaves and being so proud of my firefighter Daddy. It takes a strong man to put up with me, my sister, and my mom, but he manages. Love you, Daddy!
