Milkweed in Lace

Milkweed bugs (nymphs upper left and adults middle left) literally suck the life out of milkweed pods and their seeds. The bug-eaten pods are already dried and split, ready to spread their fluff.

I’m trying small nylon-net bags this year over the pods to help prevent the milkweed-bug damage. Once the pods formed and before I saw milkweed bugs, I cinched the bags over some of the better pods. I look forward to seeing how well this method works, and I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had success!
