Flower Festivals and Farm Tours

I’ve attended a few “home and garden” shows, but I’ve noticed that they mostly focus on “home,” while the “garden” features are mostly landscaped water features.

I’m trying to make it to more true flower festivals and farm tours. I want to talk to other farmers and gardeners and learn what works for them, get advice, share tips, and expand my knowledge of growing flowers.

Flower Festivals

Washington Lavender Festival – I just missed this festival when I traveled to Seattle last summer.  We visited Olympic National Park, so we drove through the area, and all of the lavendar farms… just wonderful. I really hope to go sometime.

Leesburg Flower Festival – I’m planning to attend this event for the first time this year. I’ve somehow missed hearing about it! I’ll post about it after we go.

Pennsylvania Lavender Festival – I’m thinking of taking a day trip to Pennsylvania with a friend to see the lavender festival. It’s only one farm, but the thought of fresh lavender and lavender crafts and activities are hard to pass up.

Farm Tours

Loudoun County Spring Farm Tour – A dear friend and I have taken the spring farm tour many times over the last 12 years. We always enjoy it. We’ve met some wonderful farmers and we found great suppliers of fresh meat, eggs, flowers, and honey.
